Dr. Laura E. Meyers has worked in the field of education for over 20 years - elementary teacher, instructional coach, professor. Her interests focus on exploring the arts (drama & visual) and children’s literature through a social justice lens. These explorations take place within her literacy and social studies methods courses, study abroad programs, and scholarship. She currently serves as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education in the College of Education at Georgia State University. In 2008 she was awarded the Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Georgia Council for the Social Studies. Her work has been published in Social Studies & the Young Learner, Language Arts, Phi-Delta Kappan, One Minute Play Festival, 48 Hour Film Project, and the Philadelphia Film Festival - Project 21. Dr. Meyers holds degrees from Purdue University (Ph.D., 2004), Hollins University (M.A., 2000), and Presbyterian College (B.S., 1993).

Adrian Douglas is a student at Georgia State University and is majoring in early childhood and elementary education with a concentration in special education. After completing his studies, he will have dual certification to teach K-5 elementary students in the traditional classroom and P-12 students with disabilities. Eventually Adrian plans to work in administration or teach on the college level.

She is an aspiring middle school math and social studies teacher. Eventually, Christian plans to open a tutoring center for students who need extra scholastic support but may not have the funds to pay for a traditional tutoring center.
